District Magistrate Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu has issued orders to keep 30 schools closed in flood-affected areas till further orders. She has issued the orders on the basis of the report received from the District Education Department.

According to the orders, students have been instructed to continue their studies online. These orders have been issued in exercise of the powers granted under Section 30 of the DM Act, 2005.

The list of govt schools which will remain closed in Block Fazilka-1 are located in flood affected villages of Ghurka, Dhani Mohana Ram, Guddar Bhaini, Hasta Kalan, Behak Bodla, Rana, Behak Hastan Uttar, Nawan Hasta Kalan.

In Block Fazilka-2, the govt schools covered by the orders are in Jhangar Bhaini, Mahatam Nagar, Jhangar Bhaini, Rete Wali Bhaini, Gulabewali Bhaini, Dhani Sadda Singh, Dona Nanaka, Muhar Jamsher, Muhar Khiva, Mansa Branch, Gatti No.1, Teja Ruhela, Sabuana, Maujam, Salem Shah and Alam Shah.

In Block Jalalabad-1, government schools to remain closed till further orders include those located in Dhani Bachan Singh, Ladhuka and Chak Khiva.
