VETERINARY MEDICAL CAMP ORGANIZED IN FLOOD-HIT BORDER AREA

A special veterinary medical camp was organized by 65 Bn Border Security Force (BSF) BOP Jodhawala in the presence of V B Yadav Commandant 65 Bn BSF, Sohan Lal Sharma, DC (QM/COMN) 65 Bn BSF, Singh Siddhartha Pramod, AC Coy Commander B Coy 65 Bn BSF and Mahender Singh, Sarpanch Jodhawala, Gurmit Singh, Sarpanch at Govt Primary School Gelewala.

A team of veterinary doctors and para-veterinary staff led by Dr. Mandip Singh, Deputy Director Vet, BSF Dr. Kanika, AC/VET, (SHQ FZK) Doctor Nipun Khungar, Vet Officer Civil Hospital Fazilka, attended the camp, where hundreds of animals including cattle, buffaloes, goats, and sheep were treated of villages of Jodhawala, Man Singh Ki Dhani, Amar Singh Ki Dhani, Gelewala and Tahliwala. Free medicines, vaccinations, and mineral supplements were distributed to prevent the spread of infectious diseases that usually rise after floods. Special focus was laid on common ailments such as foot-and-mouth disease, indigestion, fever, parasitic infections, and skin problems arising due to prolonged exposure to floodwater.

The officials highlighted that such medical camps not only provide immediate veterinary care but also help in creating awareness among farmers regarding preventive measures. They further assured that follow-up camps and regular monitoring would continue until the situation improves
