BSF DIG OVERSEES THE DOMINATION PLAN AND ONGOING RELIEF OPERATIONS

  To oversee the domination plan of the Border Security Force and ongoing flood relief and rescue operations being undertaken by state and other central agencies, Vijay Kumar, DIG, Station Headquarter Border Security Force Abohar along with Sunil Soibam, Comdt 19 Bn BSF visited Kawanwali Bridge. Thereafter, he visited forward BOP GG1 and patrolled the surrounding areas in an NDRF boat to take stock of the prevailing flood situations and to review the domination and contingency plan of the BOP which was severely affected by the flood. 

Meanwhile, a Flood Relief Medical Camp was organized by the 19 Battalion, BSF, at border village Teja Rohilla in the area of BOP GG-III, which has been totally cut off from the main land due to flooding of the entire area by monsoon rain and overflowing Chandbhan drain and Sutlej river caused by released of water from Dams located in upper ridges.

A medical team comprising Dr Shine, Dr Gurmit Rai, Dr Manav Grover and three para-medical staff provided the much-needed medical services and essential medicines to the 251 helpless villagers who were unable to move out from their homes due to the flood and the absence of medical facilities in the area.
