The police have booked one person following shortage of wheat bags procured at PUNSUP godwon at near Sekhva village in Zira area.
As per information, during the checking of the godowns M/s T R Agro Foods and Beverages LLP and M/s Sachdeva Rice Mills, total number of 38602 bags of wheat were found short.
While 35809 bags were found short at the godown of M/s T R Agro, 2793 wheat bags were found short at M/s Sachdeva Rice Mill godown.
District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC) Jatin Verma said that the responsibility of these bags at these godowns was of the PUNGRAIN employee Yograj Singh, who was the custodian of these two godowns.
The accused had been booked under sections 316 (5) of BNS and 13 (2) Prevention of Corruption Act and Amendment 2018 at Zira Sadar Police Station (FIR No. 146).
Inspector Jaswinder Singh, Investigation Officer said that the police has arrested the accused and investigation of the case is under process.
