POLICE RECOVERED ONE KG HEROIN

The police has booked a drug smuggler following recovery of one kg heroin from his residence.

SSP Bhupinder Singh said that following the inputs, a raid was conducted at the residence of accused Paramjit Singh alias Babbu resident of Jhugge Santa Singh Wala in Guruharsahai area. “As per intelligence inputs, Babbu had links with Pakistani based drug smugglers and he was involved drug smuggling. Recently he had received a consignment which was later recovered from his residence during the raid”, said SSP.

The accused has been booked under sections 21,61, 85 of NDPS Act at Guruharsahai police station (FIR No. 312).

“A hunt has been launched to nab Babbu who was not at the residence when the raid was conducted”, said SSP adding soon the accused will be nabbed.

Yesterday, the police had nabbed three drug smugglers and had recovered 863 gram ICE drug. Earlier, on Friday, two drug smugglers were nabbed and 2.106 kg heroin, drug money of Rs 1.90 Lakh, and 26 SIM cards with mobile in two different operations.
