9TH MILITARY LITERATURE FESTIVAL, WREATHLAYING AND BRAVEHEARTS RIDE

663 MOTORCYCLE ENGINES ROARED THEIR RIDERS RESPLENDENT IN THEIR MAGNIFICENT OUTFITS.

The Bravehearts Ride organised to commemorate the services, sacrifices and achievements of the heroes of the 1965 Indo-Pak War was off. Earlier, HE Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh had honoured these heroes and others by laying a wreath at the Chandigarh War Memorial.

He was followed by General VP Malik and Air Chief Marshal VS Dhanoa, former Army and Air Chiefs respectively. The Punjab Armed Police band and an honour guard from the same organisation did the honours. Veterans and members of the Organising Committee led by Lt Gen TS Shergill, Chaiman of the Festival were present as were NCC cadets who were highly motivated by the dignified, impressive proceedings.

All-women Biking groups : Mitran Di Motorcycle Mandali - Group Leader - Ms Shalini, I biker Divas - Group Leader - Ms Harneet Kaur, The Motorcyclists (Women) - Mr Hardeep Singh, Break-up of Biking groups participating. 

The curtain has been lifted off the 9th Military Literature Festival, Chandigarh with a successful and well-organised Mobike Rally and Wreathlaying. The Festival organisers would like to thank the officers and men of Western Command, the Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula Police, the sponsors Design House and Burger King and most of all the selfless, cheerful volunteers of the Ride Organising Committee especially Brig JS Arora, Col Raminder Brar, Col Nk Sharma and Col Tejinder Dhaliwal, said, Mr. Mandeep Singh Bajwa, Chairman, Media Committee.

After being flagged off by HE the Governor the Rally travelled through Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula before culminating at Raina Stadium, inside Chandimandir Military Stadium for a well-earned and thoroughly enjoyed repast.
