The Retreat ceremony at Indo-Pakistan Joint Check Post in Hussainiwala, which had been halted due to floods on August 28 this year, resumed after 74 days today. More than 1500 persons including school and college going students, witnessed the historic retreat ceremony and applauded over each single move of the BSF sentinels The slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram” echoing in the air, filled the atmosphere with sheer enthusiasm. To make the occasion more memorable, the BSF “Mahila Praheri” Brass Band gave a special performance in front of the visitors before the retreat ceremony.

Mohinder Lal, Commandant 155 battalion said that during the floods, the JCP area had been damaged badly. “The repair work is still going on but the retreat has been started today”, said Commandant Lal adding that he is overwhelmed to see the gathering of the visitors who have specially come to boost the morale of the BSF jawans.

(SUBHEAD)Ashok Kumar, a resident of New Delhi who had come to see the retreat ceremony with his wife said that today he came to know that the retreat ceremony is being resumed. “I had been staying with my relatives in Ferozepur and this is for the first time, I got to chance to witness the historic retreat ceremony and I am enjoying every single moment of it”, said Ashok.

Ankush Jain resident of the cantonment area said that he has specially come to see the retreat today . “I have seen it several times but today since the retreat was being resumed, I came here with my family to encourage our BSF sentinels”, said Ankush.
