A Legal Awareness Programme was organized at Bhag Singh Khalsa College for Women, Kala Tibba, Abohar, aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of contemporary legal issues and their rights.
Advocate Nidhi Beri, Chief Guest and Key Speaker, shed light on several crucial legal aspects, including the provision of legal aid for underprivileged sections, the functioning and significance of Lok Adalat and mediation, and key protective provisions under the POCSO Act. Her insightful discussion helped the audience gain clarity on the legal mechanisms available for safeguarding vulnerable groups.
Principal, Dr. Harpreet Kaur Mann thanked the resource person for sharing her knowledge on vital legal concerns. She emphasized that while laws are created to ensure justice and protection, they must be upheld responsibly and never misused, affirming that human dignity must remain paramount at all times.
The event was coordinated by the Legal Literacy Cell of the college. Dr. Sanju Bajaj, Coordinator; Amrinder Singh, Co-coordinator; and Jyoti Taneja, Member, extended their gratitude to the chief guest for her valuable contribution.
