TWO SHOOTERS INJURED IN POLICE FIRING: LARGE CACHE OF WEAPONS RECOVERED

In an encounter on Tuesday afternoon between the police and shooters linked to the Lawrence gang on the Derabassi–Ambala Highway. The exchange of fire took place near Steel Strips Towers, during which the police managed to arrest four shooters of the gang. Two of the arrested shooters sustained bullet injuries and were immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Police had received information that these shooters were planning to execute a major crime. Acting on the tip-off, the area was cordoned off. During the operation, the shooters opened fire at the police, prompting retaliatory action.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition has been recovered from the spot. Forensic examination of the seized arms has already begun.
Police suspect that more criminals associated with this gang may be active in the region. Raids are underway to trace and arrest the remaining members.
Senior officials visited the crime scene and appreciated the swift action taken by the local police.
