A few days ago, RSS worker Naveen Arora was shot dead in Ferozepur. Following the incident, the Punjab Police began pursuing the suspects after receiving specific inputs about their movement. During the chase, the police team encountered the suspects near the toll plaza, leading to a gunfight in which Badal was neutralised.
DIG Harmanbir Singh Gill said, the encounter occurred when a team led by DSP City, DSP Detective, and the CIA Inspector visited a cremation ground for recovery related to the case. As the police brought main shooter Badal with them, other accused—who were already hiding there—opened fire on the police team.
During the exchange, Head Constable Balour Singh sustained a bullet injury on his arm. The police retaliated, injuring shooter Badal, who later succumbed to his injuries.
While the main shooter has been eliminated, two accomplices are still on the run, and police teams have launched a search operation to trace them.
