IDP Education, the world’s leading overseas education consultancy group, organised the third season of the Empowerment Excellence Awards at CII, Chandigarh. The event provided an opportunity to study-abroad aspirants from the Tricity to directly connect with students pursuing education in the UK, Australia and Canada. Through this interaction, aspirants were able to gain first-hand insights into the realities of international education. The ceremony also honoured individuals from various fields for their remarkable contributions to society.

Sharing the details, IDP’s Senior Counsellor Jarnail Singh informed that the Chief Guest for the programme was Professor Gurvinder Pal Thami, Director, Medical Education & Research, GMCH, Sector 32. Professor Thami highlighted that all services offered by IDP Education are completely free of cost, which is highly commendable.

On the occasion, Piyush Kumar, Regional Director – South Asia & Canada (IDP), said that every year, this event reiterates the power of individuals who bring positive change in society through selfless efforts. “We feel immensely proud to honour their dedication towards society,” he said. He added that IDP Education continuously strives to provide the best possible support to students aspiring for global education. Since the UK, Australia and Canada have been preferred destinations for Tricity students, the organisation invited students currently pursuing education in these countries, ensuring that aspirants could directly understand the real conditions of international studies.

The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Kavinder Singh, Social Worker & Municipal Councillor, Mohali; Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, Chandigarh Group of Colleges; Dr. S.J. Singh Lamba, Civil Surgeon, Rupnagar; D.S. Sidhu, Chairman, Quest Group of Institutions; and Rajiv Prasad, Secretary, Haryana Legislative Assembly.

IDP’s Student Essential Services partners — Flywire, Thomas Cook, Poonawalla Fincorp, ICICI Bank and Credila — also attended the event along with counsellors, ensuring that students received all the necessary guidance for planning their international education journey.
