BSF 19 Battalion organised CIVIC ACTION PROGRAM at Govt Primary School, Vill- Maharsona in AOR of BOP Maharasona with the theme "FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS THROUGH SPORTS ACTIVITIES" during which the final match of inter village volleyball tournament was played between Village Teja Rohela and Muazam Village in which team Mauzam won by 3-2 and lifted the trophy. The winner and runner-up teams were presented trophies and medals.
15 youths have also registered themselves for the border marathon during civic action program.
A free medical camp was also organised simultaneously from 1200 Hrs to 1450 Hrs.Through the tireless efforts of the unit , apart from Dr. Shine (unit MO), the following 04 specialist doctors, also attended the medical camp, thereby making the CAP a very successful one.
Dr. Akshit Sharma (General Surgeon) , Dr. Mani Garg (Pediatrician) from District Hospital, Fazilka, Dr. Saurabh Narang (Dermatologist). and Dr. Nupur Garg (Gynecologist) from Civil Hospital, Abohar.
A total of 245 patients, including 80 male , 132 female , 18 male children, and 15 female children, availed the medical facilities and provided necessary medicines.
The program was inaugurated by Sh Sunil Soibam , Comdt of the unit, and attended by 04 GOs, 11 SOs, 25 ORs (incl unit G-rep , M/CT). Approx 150 male, 15 female, 120 school children, including Principal/Teachers, Sarpanch and Villagers of villages Maharasona, Teja Rohela, Banidilawar, Mahar Khewa(Mansa), Mahar Khewa Bhawani, Muhar Jamsher, Retiwali, Old Gatti, Jtanger Bhanji, Mahatam Nagar , Ram Singh Bhaini and Mauzam attended the program. During the program, refreshments were provided to all the attendees, and the following various sports items were distributed to all the border villages and schools.
BSF distributed Cricket Bat - 12 Nos , Cricket Gloves - 06 pairs, Stumps & Bails -12 pairs, Tennis ball -144 Nos, Leather Volleyball ball -64 Nos
Comdt. 19 BN BSF addressed the border population, emphasizing the commitment of BSF to provide all kinds of assistance for their well-being, the role of BSF in national security, and the responsibilities and border population in safeguarding the border and the need for cooperation and support, the importance of education and sports activities to fight against Drug menace.The CAP ended successfully in a cordial atmosphere with lots of gratitude and appreciation from the villagers.
