A meeting of the Inter-Departmental State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh Administration. Mayor, Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla was also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Secretary, Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) informed that 1,707 flats at Maloya were allotted in 2020 for a tenure of 25 years under the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHC) scheme of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In addition, 285 flats were allotted to beneficiaries in 2022 for a tenure of five years.
It was further informed that an amount of ₹14.85 crore is outstanding from the allottees of these flats.
The Chief Secretary directed that the recovery of outstanding dues be expedited and that cancellation and eviction proceedings be initiated against the defaulters. Further CHB authorities were instructed to submit action-taken reports regarding cancellation and eviction proceedings against the defaulting allottees.
The meeting was also attended by Shri Diprava Lakra, Finance Secretary; Shri Pardeep Kumar, CEO, CHB; Shri Akhil Kumar, Secretary, CHB; Shri C.B. Ojha, Chief Engineer; along with other officers.
