In a major breakthrough, the team of District Crime Cell of Chandigarh Police acting upon the direction of W/SSP Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur and close guidance of DSP/DCC Sh. Vijay, under the supervision of Insp. Jaspal Singh Bhullar got a major success by arresting 7 persons involved in theft cases. With their arrest 2 cases i.e. one of PS-26 and one of PS-36 are solved.

Case- 1: Case FIR No. 15/11.2.2026 u/s 305 BNS PS-36 was registered on the complaint of Mrs. Kamlesh W/o Sh. Prem Chand R/o H.No. 403, Village Kajheri Sector-52, Chandigarh, Age-65 years regarding the theft of gold and silver ornaments i.e. one pair of gold earrings, one gold chain (2 Tola), two gold rings and one pair silver payal, about Rs. 15000/- and SBI Bank cheque book and one Cylinder from H.No. 403, Kajheri, Chandigarh.

Acting upon the secret information one Amit S/o Sh. Satish R/o H.No. 778, Near Tanki Village- Bar Majra, Age-24 years was apprehended from near Ziri Mandi Maloya, while he was going to sell the stolen ornaments and all the stolen ornaments were recovered.

Case-2 : Case FIR No. 25 dated 5.2.2026 u/s 305 BNS PS-26, Chandigarh was registered regarding the theft of copper pipes of 04 AC and 01 cold room installed on the terrace of SCO No. 43, Sector-07 Madhya Marg Good and Kind Food (P) LTd.

Acting upon the reliable information 6 persons namely Vahid @ Machher, Sachin Pal, Som Nath, Pawan, Sanjay and Mukesh were apprehended from Madhya Marg Road green belt & Kachi Parking Transport Area and on checking, 06 sacks containing copper pipes (approx 90-100 small and large size copper pipes) were recovered from their possession.

Pawan Luka S/o Sh. Ram Gopal R/o #75 Phase-2, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, Age-21yr. Main accused  (FIR 25 PS-26)

Mukesh S/o Ansh R/o # 502, Rajiv Colony, Sector-17, Panchkula (Haryana), Age-30 years. Pickup Driver (FIR 25 PS-26)

Sachin Pal S/o Sh. Ashok Kumar R/o #81/2, Budan Pur Panchkula (Haryana, Age-27 years. Scrap dealer (FIR 25 PS-26)7.

Vahid @ Machher S/o Sh. Harmid R/o # 128, Budanpur Sector-16, Panchkula (Haryana), Age-25 years. Scrap dealer (FIR 25 PS-26) 

Recovery:  One Pair of Gold Ear ring (FIR 15 PS-36),  One Gold Chain 2 tola. (FIR 15 PS-36),  Two Gold rings (FIR 15 PS-36),  One pair silver payal (FIR 15 PS-36),  90-100 small and large size copper pipes (FIR 25 PS-26) 

Modus operandi : The accused are found to be habitual of drugs and they used to commit thefts to arrange money for drugs. Initially they survey area where they want to commit the theft and as and when they got chance, they executed the plan in the mid night.

Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the involvement of the accused in similar incidents. The accused will be produced before the Hon’ble court.
