THE CSA HAS SELECTED SENIOR WRITERS TO BE HONORED FOR THEIR LIFELONG CONTRIBUTION TO LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE

Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Manmohan Singh (Chairman), in the presence of Dr. Anish Garg (Vice Chairman), Subhash Bhaskar (Secretary), and Governing Body members Jung Bahadur Goyal, Dinesh Singh, Nihal Chand Dogra, Prof. Yojana Rawat, Ashwani Shandilya, Parveen Kumar, Santosh Dhiman, Alka Kansra, Amandeep Singh, and S.S. Sidhu, held at Rani Lakshmi Bai Auditorium, Sector 38, here on Wednesday 

In this important meeting, as part of the annual honors series, senior writers of Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and English were recognized for their lifelong contributions to literature and language. The following decisions were taken:

For the year 2023, the Akademi will honor the following senior writers in this category: Dr. Lakhvir Singh (Sanskrit) Dr. Gurpal Singh Sandhu (Punjabi) Dr. Sulekha Sharma (English) Dr. Santosh K. Sharma (Hindi)

For the year 2024, the Akademi will honor the following senior writers with the “Best Writer of the Year” award: Dr. Madhav Kaushik (Hindi), Dr. Raunki Ram (Punjabi), Vivek Atre (English)
Dr. Vikram Kumar Viveki (Sanskrit)

For the year 2024, the Best Book of the Year Awards will be given to the following authors: English:
