Born on October 7, 1995, into a humble family in Uttar Parokota, a small village in the Alipurduar district of West Bengal, Rakesh Sheel Sharma needs no introduction today. Starting his career in 2012, Rakesh Sheel Sharma has participated in numerous national and international sports competitions, including boxing, karate, kickboxing, rifle and pistol shooting, and won numerous medals. Rakesh explained, "When I started playing, I didn't have a primary goal.

Initially, I played to keep myself fit and physically healthy. But once I started playing, participated in sports, won medals, and won medals, my goal became to bring glory to my country and my parents." Rakesh said, "My father, Mr. Manoranjan Sheel Sharma, and mother, Mrs. Lakshmi Sheel Sharma, played a significant role in encouraging me in sports and helping me perform well and win medals. Without their support, I wouldn't be known today." Coaches Jitu Rai, Rohit Tikas, and Sandeep Mallick also played a significant role in Rakesh's life.

Rakesh currently works as a sports teacher at a private international school and is pursuing an M.A. from Netaji Subhas Open University.

Rakesh's Education

Rakesh completed his 10th grade from Kamakhyaguri High School in 2012 and 12th grade in 2014. He then completed his B.A. from Shaheed Khudiram College (North Bengal University) in 2018.

Sports Coaching Career

A six-month NS NIS Certificate Course from the Sports Authority of India. A Certificate Course on Sports Law in India from Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. Course in Sports Nutrition Certificate from Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim. Participated in several NSS camps and sports camps, including International Sports Conference, Physical Education, Sports Science Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi Central University.

Boxing: Won a silver medal at the School Games All India National Boxing Championship 2019 held in Sonipat, Haryana., Won a gold medal at the 3rd Sports Carnival, United Arab Emirates 2020 held at Dubai Stadium, UAE. Won a bronze medal at the National Boxing Championship 2021 held in Sonipat, Haryana.Won a silver medal at the 6th Youth National Boxing Championship 2022. Participated in several other boxing camps and boxing development motivation lectures.

Kickboxing: Gold medal at the 65th Battalion BSF Camp Jalpaiguri District Kickboxing Championship 2017. Bronze medal at the Goa National Kickboxing Championship 2018. Gold and Silver Medal at the 2019 IAKO National Kickboxing Championship.Bronze Medal at the 2019 4th International Thai Martial Arts Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Karate: Gold Medal at the 2017 All Bengal Open Full Contact Karate Tournament. Gold Medal at the 2017 International Kyokushin Karate Championship held at the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Wrestling Stadium. Silver Medal at the 2018 Karate World Cup held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium.Best Figure Title at the 2018 International Karate Kyokushin 2018 held in Nepal.Karate Black Belt and several Diploma Courses, including a Bronze Medal at the IFKK India Kyokushin Open Karate Championship 2019 held in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Rifle and Pistol Shooting: Titled First North Bengal Rifle Shooter. 10m, 50m, 300m Rifle Shooting; Pistol Shooter 10m, 25m Standard Pistol Shooter.
