Passenger train No. 64563/64564, which runs between Amb-Andaura (Himachal Pradesh) and Ambala Cantonment MEMU, has been extended up to Raipur (Hisar). Since this extension, the passenger train has been arriving late almost every day. As a result, daily commuters traveling from Ambala to Chandigarh are facing the most inconvenience. Working passengers are reaching their workplaces late every day, creating a risk of losing their jobs. This situation has led to strong resentment among passengers against the functioning of the railway department.
Passengers stated that some time ago, Northern Railway and the Ambala Division extended passenger train No. 64563/64564, which runs Ambala Cantonment – Amb Andaura – Ambala Cantonment via Chandigarh Junction, up to Hisar district in Haryana. However, this extension has now become a cause of inconvenience for passengers.
It is noteworthy that around 700 to 900 daily commuters travel by this train every day to reach their offices and other workplaces. Due to the train’s constant delay, most passengers are unable to reach their offices on time in the morning. Even while returning in the evening, they have to face a delay of nearly two hours. This is causing professional difficulties and unnecessary daily hardships for the passengers.
Although the distance between Chandigarh and Ambala is approximately one hour, the current situation forces daily commuters to take almost three hours to reach their destination.
Daily passengers Manish, Manoj Batra, Sanjeev Tiwari, and others have requested the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Ambala Division to look into the matter urgently and take necessary action to ensure the train operates on schedule so that passengers can get relief. They have also demanded the arrangement of an additional train around 6:30 PM in the evening for the convenience of commuters.
