In the nearby village of Ghasiwala, a minor migrant girl allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself at home. Sarpanch Pritam Singh stated that the approximately 16-year-old migrant girl had come from Bihar to Ghasiwala to take care of her sick sister.

The girl was reportedly in a love relationship with her cousin’s brother-in-law, and both wanted to get married soon. However, due to financial difficulties, her family was unable to arrange the marriage quickly. With the intention of delaying the matter, the family sent the girl to Punjab on the pretext of helping her sister.

Meanwhile, the girl’s boyfriend allegedly tried to put pressure on her by cutting his arm with a blade and sending her a video. Later, the girl sent her sister out of the house on some pretext, locked the door from inside, and died by suicide by hanging herself.

At Sunam Civil Hospital, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nek Singh of Police Station Cheema said that the police are investigating the case, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
