Minerva Academy FC have once again demonstrated their supremacy in youth football by qualifying for the Final Round of the AIFF Sub-Junior League, continuing their remarkable run in the prestigious national competition. The three-time defending champions have secured their place in the next stage after winning six of their seven matches, with three games still left to play in the group stage.
The Warriors have amassed a commanding position in the standings and still hold a strong chance of finishing at the top of the table, thanks to their impressive goal difference and consistent performances throughout the campaign.
Minerva Academy began their title defence in emphatic fashion with a resounding 9–0 victory over Real Kashmir FC, showcasing their attacking intent right from the opening fixture. They followed this up with a mammoth 17–0 win against debutants Mother's Pride Football Academy, one of the biggest margins of victory in the competition this season.
The momentum continued with a hard-fought but crucial win against Namdhari Sports Academy, where Minerva showed resilience and composure to secure another valuable three points.
The Warriors soon returned to their dominant best with another huge 9–0 triumph over Corbett FC, displaying their attacking depth and ability to overwhelm opponents. The team then went on to register an even more extraordinary performance, recording a staggering 18–0 victory over Mother’s Pride Football Academy to complete the double over the side.
Despite controlling large portions of play in their next fixture, Minerva faced a surprising setback against Punjab FC, going down 2–0 despite a dominant performance on the field. However, the young Warriors quickly bounced back from the defeat with an important 2–1 away victory, reaffirming their determination and championship mentality.
So far in the tournament, Minerva Academy FC have scored an incredible 57 goals while conceding just four, underlining both their attacking prowess and defensive solidity. The team has also maintained four clean sheets, highlighting the discipline and organization at the back.
Several players have played key roles in Minerva’s successful campaign. Ngayaiza Zingyo currently leads the scoring charts for the team with 11 goals, emerging as one of the most lethal forwards in the competition. He is closely followed by Mukhtar Rehman, who has contributed nine goals, while Bickson Hidam has also been instrumental with eight goals to his name.
The Warriors’ campaign has been defined by relentless attacking football, disciplined defensive structure, and a fearless approach against every opponent, traits that have made them one of the most dominant teams in the tournament.
With qualification to the final round now secured and three matches still remaining in the group stage, Minerva Academy FC will aim to maintain their strong momentum and potentially finish at the top of the table, as they continue their pursuit of yet another national title in the AIFF Sub-Junior League.
