The cancellation of the Khuian Sarwar Panchayat Samiti meeting for the third time has been criticized by MLA Sandeep Jakhar. He said that the Bhagwant Mann government and administration were ignoring democratic norms. He said that the meeting was canceled without any concrete reason, which is a direct insult to the mandate. He claimed that his group has 9 members while SAD has 3, AAP 3 and Congress 2. The ruling AAP, fearing defeat, is disrupting the election process.

He said that the government should not hinder the process of electing the officials. Due to continuous cancellation of meetings, development has completely come to a standstill. Jakhar warned that if fair elections were not held soon and elected members were not given their rights, he would take a tough stand for the rights of the people. He demanded that the administration should come out of political pressure and fulfill its responsibility so that the wheel of development of villages can turn again.

The MLA and members of his group met DSP Sukhwinder Singh Brar and submitted a complaint. They strongly objected to the presence of AAP leaders in the Panchayat Samiti premises along with some “suspicious looking” strangers who were perhaps brought to create trouble but elected members of the opposition parties-maintained restraint.
