Three people were killed and one is missing after a building being lifted with hydraulic jacks collapsed in Punjab’s Barnala district on Sunday.

According to officials, the structure was being raised for repair work when it suddenly lost balance and crashed down. At the time of the incident, four individuals were reportedly sleeping beneath the building and got trapped under the debris.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot and pulled out the victims. Three were declared dead, while search operations are ongoing to locate the missing person.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Initial reports suggest possible negligence or technical failure during the lifting process.
