Renowned satirist Dr. Prem Janmejay said that satire is often perceived as a contribution from the West. Some argue that it arrived here in the form of 'satire' from Western sources; however, this is not the case. Satire has, in fact, existed within our own Indian knowledge tradition for a very long time. Tracing its roots from the Vedic era, through the “Mahabharata”, and right up to the present day, satire has consistently exerted a significant influence on society.

Discussing "The Genre of Satire in Literature: Nature, Evolution, and Social Impact (In the Light of the Indian Knowledge Tradition)" at Tantia University, Sriganganagar, he remarked that satire enters our lives precisely when we attain intellectual maturity. While satire is undoubtedly a weapon, it is entirely up to one's own discretion whether to wield that weapon like a soldier or like a killer. He also advised the judicious and thoughtful use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), warning that its unbridled application poses a threat to human creativity. AI, he noted, is eroding our self-confidence.

Expressing his appreciation for Tantia University, Dr. Prem Janmejay remarked that he felt a profound sense of peace upon visiting the campus. Describing Vice Chairperson Dr. Mohit Tantia as an energetic young leader, offered wholehearted praise for his vision.

Dr. Rajinder Kumar Godara observed that mobile phones have adversely impacted our intellectual faculties; in this context, lectures such as this one proves to be immensely beneficial. Dr. Vishal Chhabra discussed the subject matter in depth. The proceedings were anchored by Dr. Krishan Kumar Ashu, while Dr. Deepak Sharma thanked all. Dr. Janmejay was also felicitated during the event.
