The vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of Northeast India came alive at Bal Bhavan, Sector 23 during a colourful festival titled "Leirang – Flavour of the Northeast". Organized by ARKAY Foundation (A Foundation for the Upliftment of LGBT), the festival aimed to bridge the cultural gap and promote a deeper understanding of the Northeast among people in the rest of India.

Highlighting the need for greater cultural awareness, ARKAY Foundation noted that misconceptions often arise due to limited exposure to the Northeast’s diversity. "Leirang" is a series of events curated to showcase the region's unique traditions through dance, music, costumes, food, and lifestyle.

The evening’s showstopper was a stunning Fashion Show featuring traditional attire designed by renowned designer Arbind Tonjam. The audience was left spellbound as models walked the ramp in exquisite traditional costumes. Adding star power to the evening, Manipur film superstar Soma Laishram graced the ramp as the showstopper, dazzling in a traditional Manipuri bridal dress known as Potloi.

The festival opened with mesmerizing traditional dances performed by Guru Dr. Manju and his students from Manipur, setting an energetic tone for the evening. This was followed by captivating musical performances by celebrated artists from the Northeast, including RJAY, Felix & Len, Sorri Senjam, and the popular Kok Band.
