READY TO FACILITATE DIALOGUE BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY: SUNITA DUGGAL

Smt. Sunita Duggal,  Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha-Sirsa),  said that she is just a phone call away and is always available to facilitate dialogue between the Government and Industry on any issue or concern of the later. Smt Duggal was speaking at a Panel Discussion on “Augmenting Haryana’s Growth through Adoption of Advanced Technology” organised by CII Haryana over virtual platform today. The session was organised on the side lines of CII Haryana Annual Session that witnessed participation of who’s who of the industry and over 250 delegates. 

Smt Duggal further shared with the industry stalwarts that she has requested Smt Smriti Irani, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Government of India for considering setting up a Textiles Park in Sirsa District. The Hon’ble MP invited industry to consider exploring other investment opportunities as well in Sirsa. In her remarks, Smt. Duggal also emphasised that nuclear energy and defense offer avenues for private sector to play a pivotal role in the future of our country’s growth. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nikhil Sawhney, Chairman, CII Northern Region & Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Triveni Turbine Ltd, emphasised that there is a need to enhance capabilities of regulatory institutions to deliver universal utility services and encourage private sector to invest in technology related R&D. 

Highlighting the challenges being faced by industry on account of rising fuel costs, Mr Sawhney urged the Hon’ble Member of Parliament to raise in the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance the suggestion for tax rationalisation in the short term and subsequently bringing petroleum products under the ambit of GST. 

Mr Sunjay Kapur, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Chairman, Sona COMSTAR highlighted that it is good to note that adoption of advanced technology is taking place in the industry but the rate of adoption is slow as it is limited generally to the large organizations. Mr Kapur stressed that small companies, particularly the MSMEs require more hand holding to adopt technology. 

After assuming the Charge of Chairman, CII Haryana State Council, Mr Rajiv Gandhi, Member of the Executive Board, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd emphasised that there is a need for top managements across all manufacturing organizations to act quickly and start their digital journeys by adapting the changing trends. This would help them match their steps with their competitors who are a part of the technological revolution that is taking place across the world, added Mr Gandhi. 

The Incoming Vice Chairman of CII Haryana State Council, Mr Rohit Relan, CMD, Bharat Seats Ltd mentioned that India’s manufacturing sector is expected to leverage the potential of Automated Industry with combination of AI and 3D that would play an irreplaceable role in driving growth and economic development. In his remarks, he further emphasised that technological innovations based on the principals of simplicity, supreme customer experience and efficiency have the potential of generating improvements in capability, utility and accessibility for Indian manufacturers. 

The other eminent speakers that addressed delegates during the session were Mr Harbhajan Singh, Chief of Strategy & HR, XLRI, Delhi; Mr Chirag Baijal, MD, Career Air-conditioning & Refrigeration; and Mr Jasmeet Singh, Associate Vice President, JCB India Ltd.
