AFTER BARGAINING THE AMOUNT OF BRIBE HAS BEEN SETTLED FOR RS 30 LACS. BOTH THE ACCUSED REMANDED TO POLICE CUSTODY FOR ONE DAY

Continuing with the drive against corruption, the Vigilance Unit Barakhamba Road, Delhi Police have arrested Inspector Jitendra Singh Yadav, Inspector Investigation, PS Greater Kailash and one public person Dharamveer, R/o Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, who was posing as an Advocate, while accepting bribe of Rs. 1 Lakh from the complainant.
Complainant, who is a resident of GK area alleged in her complaint to the Vigilance Unit that FIR was registered against her and her husband at PS Greater Kailash. The IO of the case Inspr. Jitender Singh Yadav is demanding bribe from her for doing favor to them in the case. After bargaining the amount of bribe has been settled for Rs 30 Lacs.
Complainant further told that Inspr. Jitender Singh Yadav has directed her to pay the bribe amount to Dharamveer who presented himself as an Advocate.
Aggrieved by the demand of money, the complainant approached Vigilance Unit, Delhi Police. A team was constituted at the Vigilance Unit under supervision of ACP, Vigilance & a trap was laid on Mondsy. The trap team arrested Dharamveer after bribe money was received by him. Tainted bribe currency amount was recovered from the possession of Dharamveer.
Following this, Inspr. Jitendra Singh Yadav was also arrested. Later during investigation, it was revealed that Dharamveer is not a registered Legal Practitioner and he has been falsely representing himself as an Advocate.
After completing all the proceedings an FIR under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, and Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, was registered at Police Station Vigilance.
Inspector Jitendra Singh Yadav and Dharamveer have been arrested in the case and are now on one day Police Custody Remand.
An appeal is being made to all the citizens to come forward and lodge a complaint at Vigilance Helpline No. 1064, if any Police Officer demands bribe from them.
