Under the leadership and supervision of Commandant Veerendra Bahadur Yadav of 65 Battalion BSF on Thursday, an awareness program was conducted in the border village of Taliwal, Fazilka, to educate the local populace about the consequences of drug abuse and addiction.

Villagers from the border area were gathered and encouraged to refrain from the use and trafficking of narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs. Commandant Yadav appealed to the village residents, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and those involved in smuggling activities.

On this special occasion, with the assistance of professional counselors, counseling sessions were also held for the local population to raise awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and to inspire collective responsibility in making the nation strong and drug-free.

Following the counseling, a rally was also organized in the village in which BSF officers, subordinate ranks and local villagers actively participated, contributing to the success of the event.

On this occasion, all attendees took a pledge to keep themselves, their families, and their loved ones away from drug use, to understand the harms of addiction, explore available treatment options, and intervene early wherever necessary.
