Close on the heels of recovery of 15 kg heroin during which one drug smuggler was nabbed on Friday , 5.506 kg more heroin recovered by police in this case.
While divulging details, Bhupinder Singh SSP said that the police had nabbed a drug smuggler identified as Ramesh Kumar alias "Mesha" , resident of Mohkam Khan Wala in Kulgarhi block and had recovered 15kg heroin from his car following which the accused had been booked under section 1 of NDPS ACT at Ghall Khurd police station (FIR NO 81 Dated 24.07.25).
SSP said that during the investigation it came to fore that the accused had hide few more packets of heroin in a drum at his cowshed following which a raid had been conducted at 5.506 kg more heroin had been recovered. "Overall 20.513 kg heroin has been recovered by police in this case", said SSP.

It is pertinent to mention here that the accused had already been booked in in five cases at various police station of the district.
Notably, during the last seven months, the police has recovered 141.386 kg heroin, 33.568 kg opium , 802.913 kg poppy husk, 534 gram ICE, 25255 intoxicating tablets, drug money of Rs. 84.69 Lakh and have arrested 1032 drug smugglers in 800 cases registered.
