The much-awaited National Silk Expo, a celebration of India’s rich handloom traditions, opened on Thursday at Himachal Bhawan, Sector-28B, Chandigarh. Running from August 14 to 19, 2025, the six-day exhibition features over 150 master weavers and designers from across India, offering visitors an unparalleled opportunity to explore authentic, handcrafted fashion and textiles.
This edition of the National Silk Expo is bound to treat consumers to a kaleidoscope of India’s colorful diversity and talent. Special focus this time is on bridal sarees for the upcoming wedding and festive season, especially Karva Chauth.
The Festival Season Special will showcase some of the finest silks, cottons, sarees, suits, dress materials, fashion jewellery, and more from weaving hubs such as Pochampally, Muga Silk, Paithani, Kosa Silk, Baluchuri, and Tussar. Saris with intricate Madhubani prints from Bihar are a highlight, alongside stalls featuring Kosa and Tussar silk saris.
