ACCUSED PURCHASED CHARAS FROM HIMACHAL PRADESH, 742 gram CHARAS (MARKET VALUE- Rs. 222600/-) RECOVERED

In a major breakthrough, the Police Station ANTF, Chandigarh of UT Chandigarh has succeeded in busting an interstate Narco Drug Smuggling syndicate. The case was cracked under the leadership of Sh. Jasbir Singh, (SPCrime, Chandigarh), with the Supervision of Sh. Dhiraj Kumar, DSP-Crime, and led by Insp. Harminderjit Singh, SHO, Police Station-ANTF Sector 11, Chandigarh.
OPERATION: On 08.09.08.2025, ASI Rohtas Singh 2083/CHG, alongwith police party while performing the patrolling duty for collecting the NDPS related information in the area of Chandigarh. At around 1:50 Am they received a secret information that some boys in a car number CH01CB-2819 would be coming from Himachal Pradesh to Chandigarh to sell drugs.
Acting upon this information, when the police party reached New Barricate chowk Chandigarh, number CH01CB-2819 was seen coming and at around 03:15 AM, the said car was stopped by the police party and apprehended Gaurav Kumar S/o Shamsher Singh R/o House No.817, Sector-7/B, UT, Chandigarh, age -35 years, Ajay S/o Laxman R/o House NO.12, Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon Mohali PB, age-25, Abhishek S/o Gurmukh Singh R/o House No. 1923, Safeda, Colony, Naya Gaon Mohali PB, age-23 and Amit Kumar S/o Sh. Lalit Kumar R/o House No.161, Sahaupr colony, ector-38/W, UT, Chandigarh, age-29 and with Car No. CH01CB-2819 and 597 Grams Charas has been recovered from them.
Subsequently a case FIR no 13 date 08.09.25 U/s 21 added 29 NDPS Act PS-ANTF Chandigarh has been registered in this regard. Ondisclosure statement of Gaurav Kumar, drug supplier Kulwant Singh S/o Shispal R/o Village-Mathla, Devidhar, Shimla, HP, age-35 years was apprehended on 09.09.2025 from Parmanoo, HP and 145 Grams Charas was recovered from his possession.
Later on, the above said accused persons produced in the Hon’ble Court.

Kalwant Singh S/o Shispal R/o VillageMathla, Devidhar, Shimla, HP, age-35 years 142 Grams Charas Police Custody

MODUS OPERANDI; Gaurav Kumar S/o Shamsher Singh, Ajay S/o Laxman, Abhishek S/o Gurmukh Singh and Amit Kumar S/o Sh. Lalit Kumar used to purchase Charas from Kulwant Singh S/o Shispal at low price and further sold it in Tricity area at high price for profit.
Profile of accused:-
Gaurav Kumar S/o Shamsher Singh R/o House No.817, Sector-7/B, UT, Chandigarh, age -35, years studied upto 10th class, belongs to Himachal Pradesh and he is government employee at Punjab Secretariat, Chandigarh as a water carrier. And presently live at above said address. He himself consumes drug (Charas) and to earn more money, he used to purchase drugs from drug peddler Kalwant Singh S/o Shispal R/o Village-Mathla, Devidhar, Shimla, HP, age-35 years and sells Charas in tri-city area. He has no previous involvement. Recovery- 597 Grams Charas Car No. CH01CB-2819
Abhishek S/o Gurmukh Singh R/o House No. 1923, Safeda, Colony, Naya Gaon Mohali PB, age-23 year, and works as sweeper on DC rate in Punjab Secretariat and consumes drug (Charas) as well sells drugs. He used to purchase drug (Charas) from Himachal and sells in Tri-city area.
Ajay S/o Laxman R/o House NO.12, Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon Mohali PB, age-25, years works as sweeper on DC rate in Punjab Secretariat and he consume drug (Charas) as well sells drugs. He used to purchase drug (Charas) from Himachal and sells in Tri-city area.
Amit Kumar S/o Sh. Lalit Kumar R/o House No.161, Sahaupr colony, Sector-38/W, UT, Chandigarh. Age-29, years works as sweeper on DC rate in Punjab Secretariat and he consume drug (Charas) as well sells drugs. He used to purchase drug (Charas) from Himachal and sells in Tri-city area.
Kalwant Singh S/o Shispal R/o Village-Mathla, Devidhar, Shimla, HP, age-35 years is a farmer. He cultivate apples and also grows illicit Charas in apple orchard. He supply drug (Charas) in Tri-city as well as U.T area. Recovery- 145 gram Charas.
