TiE CHANDIGARH CELEBRATES WOMEN IN FLAGSHIP EVENT – PARIVARTAN KA UTSAV – UDAAN

12 SEMI-FINALISTS ADVANCED TO FINALS OF TiE WOMEN GLOBAL PITCH COMPETITION. TOP 6 WILL BE AWARDED WITH CASH PRIZE WORTH 5 LAKH.

The Women Core Team of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Chandigarh, in collaboration with Sahayak Associates and Nippon AMC, hosted a TiE Women led event “Parivartan ka Utsav – Udaan” at Chandigarh Club, Sector 1. The evening marked a significant celebration of women entrepreneurs, showcasing resilience, innovation, and leadership. 

Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest was Ms. Surabhi Malik, Director – Industries and Commerce, Punjab, reinforcing the continued support of the Punjab government as program partner for TiE Chandigarh’s initiatives.

One of the highlights of the event was the Semi-Finals of the TiE Women Global Pitch Competition, where Top 6 finalists from TiE Chandigarh will be awarded cash prizes worth ₹5 lakh. Winner of Chapter Final will represent TiE Chandigarh at Global Pitch Competition 2026, scheduled to be held in Jaipur from January 4–6. TiE Women Global sees participation from nearly 60 chapters worldwide, offering rigorous mentorship, seed funding, and global exposure for women-led startups.
 

This year’s edition received an overwhelming 53 applications, of which 35 were shortlisted through a rigorous bootcamp and mentoring program led by TiE Chandigarh’s charter members. Startups came from across Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, with nearly 70 percent hailing from Punjab. The semi-final round featured 23 pitches, from which the top 12 teams will proceed to the finals before September 30, 2025. 

Adding to the evening’s significance, philanthropist and entrepreneur Mr. Ranbir Singh, who built and exited a successful venture in the US, pledged $20,000 (₹16.5 lakh) towards TiE Chandigarh’s entrepreneurship programs, including TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE), TiE University, and TiE Women. 

Ms. Pooja Nayar, Chair – TiE Women Chandigarh, said: “Parivartan Ka Utsav – Udaan signified transformation, empowerment, and the rise of women as changemakers. Through powerful pitches, stories of resilience, and a showcase of women-led ventures, the evening aimed to inspire collaboration, strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and accelerate the impact of women entrepreneurs on society and business.” 

The organising team included Co-Chairs Ms. Tanushree (Think People First), Ms. Shalini Saini (Busy Bucket), Ms. Ekta Gupta (Parijai Genus), and Ms. Isha Taneja (Complere Infosystem). TiE Global Women Team Member Ms. Ritika Singh (Kontent Factory) added: “It was heartening to see platforms where women are not just seen and heard but valued as innovators, change makers, and employment generators.” 

DGP, Community Affairs Gurpreet Kaur Deo delivered a Keynote and motivated all the Women. There was a panel of young entrepreneur Himani Arora and Bollywood Actress Divita Juneja which was moderated by Opinder Gill. Fire Side Chat of Ms Komal Talwar and Dr Kuldeep Kaur was a power packed session. Financial independence for Women theme based discussion between Mr Sahni of Sahayk Associates and Pooja Nayar was an eye opening and thought-provoking session. 

Philanthropist and entrepreneur Mr. Ranbir Singh pledges 16.5 lakh

Philanthropist and entrepreneur Mr. Ranbir Singh, who has pledged $20,000 (₹16.5 lakh) towards TiE Chandigarh’s entrepreneurship programs, including TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE), TiE University, and TiE Women, is a globally recognized pioneer in Silicon Carbide (SiC) power semiconductor technology, driving innovations that have transformed high-power and high-frequency applications. As the founder and former CEO of GeneSiC Semiconductor, he demonstrated visionary leadership in the design, fabrication, and commercialization of SiC devices, culminating in the successful acquisition of GeneSiC by Navitas Semiconductor.

Mr. Puneet Verma, President, TiE Chandigarh, said, “First time such a massive event of the women and by the women has been organised. We had over 15 women speakers for the event and the show was managed completely by the TiE women members. This is a new journey for TiE Chandigarh and wish our women members the very best for many more such events in the future.”
