Three promising players from the Sriganganagar District Cricket Association have been selected by the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 squad. They are Manav Suthar, Ajay Kookna, and Sumit Godara.
Manav Suthar has been appointed as the team's vice-captain, which is a historic achievement for the district.
District Cricket Association treasurer Jaideep Bihani MLA, Secretary Vinod Saharan, President Mukesh Shah said that it will serve as a source of inspiration for the young cricketers in the district and promote cricket at the local level.
This selection adds an important chapter to the cricket history of Sriganganagar, as Manav Suthar is the first player from the district to be entrusted with the responsibility of vice-captain in the Rajasthan Ranji team.
Manav Suthar has created a sensation in domestic cricket with his outstanding bowling. In the Ranji Trophy, he has played 24 matches and taken 103 wickets so far. In one-day matches, he has 22 wickets in 17 matches, and in T20 format, took 10 wickets in 15 matches. His most memorable achievement was against Australia, where he took 5 wickets with brilliant bowling.
Ajay Kookna excels in troubling opposing batsmen with his swing and spin. In the Ranji Trophy, he has taken 65 wickets in 19 matches. His record includes 14 wickets in 11 one-day matches and 2 wickets in 2 T20 games.
Sumit Godara represented Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy and made his first-class debut against Vidarbha in the 2023-24 season. Godara has also been the captain of Rajasthan's Under-19 team. He has also received the "Emerging Player of the Year" award in Rajasthan domestic cricket.
