The CBI Court on Monday sentenced Shashank Jadon and Manoj Kumar to life imprisonment and fine of Rs. 70,000/- and Rs. 50,000/- respectively, in the case pertaining to the murder of Ankit Chauhan on 13.04.2015 at Sector 76 of NOIDA, UP. Accused persons were held guilty by the Ld. Court on 20.09.2025.
Investigation of the murder case was transferred to CBI by the Hon’ble Allahabad High Court and the same was registered by CBI on 14.06.2016.
The deceased Shri Ankit Chauhan, a software engineer working with Tata Consultancy Services, was fatally shot and killed in his Fortuner Car by unidentified accused persons.
After a detailed investigation, CBI unearthed the crime and arrested the accused persons, Shashank Jadon and Manoj Kumar on 01.06.2017 and 02.06.2017 respectively.
Chargesheet was filed against the accused persons for the offences of murder, attempted robbery, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence before the Jurisdictional Court at Ghaziabad on 29.08.2017. Notably, the trial of the case was transferred from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh to New Delhi by the Hon'ble Supreme Court on 02.08.2019.
After the trial, the Hon’ble Court convicted and sentenced the accused accordingly.
