HEROIN CONSIGNMENT WAS RECOVERED FROM THE FIELDS NEAR VILLAGE DALEKE: DGP GAURAV YADAV, RAIDS ARE BEING CONDUCTED TO NAB INDIVIDUALS SUPPOSED TO PICK THE CONSIGNMENT: SP ANTF GURPREET SINGH

In a major breakthrough amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Border Range, in coordination with Border Security Force (BSF), has recovered a quantity of heroin weighing approximately 12.050 Kg from near village Daleke in Lopoke, Amritsar, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Tuesday.
The DGP said that during routine patrolling of identified vulnerable points, information was received regarding the presence of a drone in agricultural fields in the area of Daleke village.
Acting promptly on the input, joint teams from ANTF under the supervision of SP Gurpreet Singh carried out a systematic search of the suspected location, he said, while adding that as a result of the coordinated effort, a consignment of heroin was recovered from the fields near Village Daleke. The total weight of the recovered contraband, including packaging material, was found to be 12.050 Kg.
Sharing more details, SP ANTF Gurpreet Singh said that preliminary investigation is underway to trace backward and forward linkages in this case using technical evidence and human intelligence. Suspects, who were supposed to retrieve the consignment have been identified and raids are being conducted to nab them, he said.
In this regard, a case FIR no. 322 dated 22/12/2025 has been registered under sections 21 (c) and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station ANTF.
