A delegation of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), led by Mr Karan Gilhotra, Chair, Punjab State Chapter, held a meeting with Mr Fares Saeb, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Israel, in Chandigarh to explore avenues for strengthening India–Israel bilateral cooperation, particularly with a focus on Punjab’s industrial and innovation ecosystem.
The discussions centred on enhancing collaboration in key sectors such as industry, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on translating diplomatic engagement into concrete business and development outcomes.
Mr Gilhotra highlighted the need for a well-defined strategic roadmap to deepen industrial cooperation and promote stronger diplomatic–business linkages between Punjab and Israel. He underlined Punjab’s robust industrial base and its preparedness to engage in high-impact international collaborations.
Appreciating PHDCCI’s proactive outreach, Mr Saeb expressed the Embassy of Israel’s keen interest in expanding cooperation with Punjab. He identified water management technologies, healthcare, agri-innovation and the startup ecosystem as priority areas for future collaboration.
Ms Bharti Sood, Senior Regional Director, PHDCCI, stressed the importance of creating a strong institutional framework to facilitate trade, industry connect and joint initiatives, reaffirming PHDCCI’s role as a catalyst in fostering international partnerships.
The delegation also comprised Mr Supreet Singh, Convener, Regional Pharmaceuticals, Health & Wellness Committee, PHDCCI, and Mr Jatin Sahdev, Resident Manager, PHDCCI.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to further strengthen India–Israel economic and industrial ties through sustained dialogue and collaborative initiatives.
