STRICT ACTION AND HEAVY PENALTIES FOR COLLUSION BETWEEN SHELLER AND COMMISSION AGENTS

 Face2News/Chandigarh

Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, taking a firm stand against irregularities in the crop procurement system, said the state government is fully committed to purchasing every grain of farmers’ produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He made it clear that fraudulent procurement will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini was presiding over a high-level meeting, aimed at making the crop procurement system more transparent and effective here today. Urban Local Bodies Minister Sh Vipul Goyal and Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Sh Rajesh Nagar were also present in the meeting.

Issuing strict instructions to officers of the concerned procurement agencies, the Chief Minister said regular and effective field-level monitoring must be ensured during the upcoming procurement season so that farmers’ produce is purchased at MSP without any hindrance. Taking serious note of irregularities detected in procurement in the past, he directed that such issues must not recur. He further stated that immediate and strict disciplinary action should be taken against any officer or employee found involved in fraudulent procurement, sending a clear message that wrongdoing will not be tolerated at any level.

The Chief Minister also directed that if any sheller or commission agent is found involved in collusion or serious irregularities, strict action along with heavy penalties should be imposed. He said the committee of the concerned department should only inspect shellers, and no officer or employee should conduct inspections individually. Any violation of this directive should invite immediate disciplinary action.

He further instructed that end-to-end technical monitoring of crops—from farmers’ fields to mandis and from mandis to shellers—must be ensured through the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal to eliminate the possibility of irregularities at any stage.
