Despite the biting cold, crowds of spectators at the India-Pakistan border retreat ceremony demonstrates patriotism. A large number of spectators from various parts of the country flock to the international Sadki border of Fazilka on the India-Pakistan border to witness the daily retreat ceremony between the soldiers of neighbouring countries.
Liladhar Sharma, an ever-green associate of the BSF public welfare activities and president of the Border Area Development Front, said that despite the biting cold these days, a large number of people come to watch the enthusiastic retreat ceremony parade of the BSF soldiers, cheering and carrying with them a feeling of patriotism. The large number of spectators surprises the spectators sitting on the other side of the border.
Sadiqi village on the India- Pakistan border in Fazilka district is third joint check post after Wagah in Amritsar and Hussainiwala in Ferozepur district where a retreat ceremony is performed every evening by the Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers.
