In a response to the ongoing severe cold wave and dense fog conditions, the Punjab Government has changed the timings of schools in the state. Now, Primary schools will operate from 10AM to 3PM, while Middle, High and Senior Secondary schools will function from 10AM to 3:20PM. The new timing will remain in effect until January 21, 2026, informed S. Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab. 

"The well-being and safety of our students is our highest priority,” S. Bains said, while directing school heads and District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure the revised school timings in all the government, aided, affiliated and private schools across the state.
