HARYANA EXTENDS WINTER HOLIDAYS TILL JANUARY 17, NOW SCHOOL TO OPEN FROM JAN. 19

Winter holidays have been extended in schools of Haryana. Education department has taken this decision due to severe cold. According to the issued order, all government, government-aided and private schools of the state will remain closed till 17 January 2026 under winter vacation.  January 18 is Sunday and the  schools will open on their scheduled time from Monday 19th January.

Notification said, "In view of severe cold, all schools will remain closed till January 17, 2026 and will reopen on January 19, 2026, extending the order issued on December 23, 2025 regarding winter vacations in all schools of the state." However, the notification has said an important thing for the students of 10th and 12th. It has been said that in view of the board examinations, the 10th and 12th students can be called to school for practicals as per the scheduled schedule even during the holidays.

Earlier, the Haryana Education Department had announced winter holidays from January 1 to January 15 in all the schools of the state. The education department said that the health and safety of children is our priority. This decision has been taken with the aim of protecting children from the increasing effects of cold and cold wave. In order to ensure that the children do not get sick due to cold in school or while coming and going to school.
