FIRING INCIDENT AT SEWAK PHARMACY, SECTOR-32 CHANDIGARH SOLVED BY PS-CRIME, CHANDIGARH – FOUR ACCUSED ARRESTED, TWO ACCUSED INJURED IN A BRIEF EXCHANGE OF FIRE NEAR ZIRI MANDI CHOWK. , ARRESTED ACCUSED PERPETRATED ANOTHER FIRING FOR EXTORTION IN JALANDHAR ON 20.01.2026 AND ALSO TRIED TO SNATCH FOUR-WHEELER IN MOHALI, MAJOR EXTORTION PLAN ON DIRECTIONS OF FOREIGN-BASED HANDLER SABA GOBINDGARH BUSTED. RECOVERY OF 03 PISTOLS, LIVE AMMUNITION AND NARCO DRUGS (AMPHETHAMINE & OPIUM).

In a major breakthrough, Police Station-Crime, Chandigarh has succeeded in working out the firing incident case at Sewak Pharmacy, Sector-32, Chandigarh and arrested one accused. The case was cracked under the leadership of SP/Crime, Chandigarh, with the supervision of Sh. Dhiraj Kumar, DSP/Crime, Chandigarh, and led by SHO, Police Station-Crime, Chandigarh, along with the investigating team.

FIR No. 07 Date 16.01.2026 U/s 109(1), 351(2), 61(2) BNS and 25, 27, 54, 59 Arms Act PS 34 CHD WORKED OUT AND ANOTHER CASE FIR No. 02 dated 20.01.2026 U/S 18 & 21 NDPS Act & 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS Crime REGISTERED.

The FIR No. 07 Date 16.01.2026 U/s 109(1), 351(2), 61(2) BNS and 25, 27, 54, 59 Arms Act PS 34 Chandigarh, was registered on the complaint that on 15.01.2026, two unknown boys arrived on a white Activa scooter, fired two rounds inside the Sevak medical store, Sector-32, Chandigarh and also threatened to kill the shop owner. After firing, both persons fled away on the Activa. Out of the two shots fired, one bullet hit the glass of the counter and the other struck below.

During investigation, on 18.01.2026, suspects were interrogated and during interrogation, accused Rahul Bisht S/o Partap Singh Bisht R/o H. No.128, Sector 46-A, Chandigarh, Age 32 years was found involved and arrested by PS-Crime.

Rahul Bisht developed contact with one Saba (resident of Gobindgarh) during his work related to blood sample testing and thereafter remained connected with him through Signal ID. Saba, while staying in America, planned to demand extortion money by creating fear through firing incidents and directed Rahul Bisht to arrange shooters for the same. In this regard, Rahul Bisht contacted two persons namely Rahul (his ex-lab worker) and Ricky (his friend). They all are drug users due to which they are money crises which facilitated them for committing firing incidents. Saba allegedly arranged and provided one pistol, two magazines and ₹30,000/- cash at Rajpura town for execution of the offence.

Based on these recoveries, another Case FIR No. 02 dated 20.01.2026 U/S 18 & 21 NDPS Act & 25-54-59 Arms Act, PS Crime, UT, Chandigarh has been registered.

Further, accused Rahul Bisht disclosed that he was associated with 10–12 laboratories for blood sample testing. During that period, he went to Mohali to collect a blood sample for Saba, resident of Gobindgarh, and thereafter they came in contact with each other. They remained connected through Signal ID. Both hatched conspiracy to extort money from well to do persons with Rahul Bisht acting as a ground worker providing information, contact numbers of potential targets and Saba to make extortion calls from abroad.

On this, Rahul Bisht contacted one Rahul, who had earlier worked in his laboratory, and his friend Ricky, residents of Hallo Majra and Vikas Nagar, respectively. Both of them are stated to be drug users. As per disclosure, Saba arranged and provided one pistol, two magazines and an amount of ₹30,000/- from some source to Rahul and Ricky at Rajpura town.

On the same day, Rahul and Ricky reached Sector-32, Chandigarh on a stolen Activa scooter, wherein Rahul was riding the Activa and Ricky committed the firing at Sewak Medicose, Sector-32, Chandigarh. After committing the firing, they rushed towards Sector-46, Chandigarh and met accused Rahul Bisht and one Preet (resident of Zirakpur), who were allegedly waiting for them in a Wagnor car.

Thereafter, Saba and Rahul Bisht told them (Rahul and Ricky) to commit another firing at vehicle of Sarbtej Singh, property dealer at Rama Mandi, Jalandhar (Punjab). Thereafter, Rahul, Ricky and Preet went to Jalandhar (Punjab) and returned Mohali on 18.01.2026 where they tried to snatch a four-wheeler at patrol pump Jawaharpura, Derabassi, Mohali. They threatened the car owner with pistol. However, due to alert petrol pump staff Rahul and Ricky flew away from the patrol pump.

Thereafter, they again reached Jalandhar, where they fired three rounds on a Fortuner car of Sarbtej Singh at Rama Mandi Jalandhar and returned to Mohali.

As PS-Crime staff was on alert, a secret information was received tonight that all three are roaming in a Metallic silver colour Wagonar and would enter Chandigarh with a view to further commit such crimes. A message was relayed to concerned Police stations and Nakas along Mohali border to detect any such vehicle. A similar description car was noticed near Grain market, Sector-39 and upon seeing police vehicle, suddenly jeered towards Maloya and collided with an electric pole. Two accused persons tried to escape by firing on police. One buller struck police vehicle and another struck ASI Sanjay who was wearing bulletproof jacket and bullet struck the jacket. In counter firing, two accused persons were injured with bullet hitting their legs. They were immediately overpowered and shifted to GMSH16 for necessary medical assistance and third accused person was taken into custody.
