As per directions of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, W/SSP/UT, Chandigarh, under the close guidance of Ms. K.M. Priyanka, W/SP/City Chandigarh and under the supervision of Smt. Gurjeet Kaur, CPS, SDPO/South, a team of officials of Police Station, Sector-49, Chandigarh headed by Insp. Om Parkash, SHO/PS-49 got significant success by arresting accused namely Akhil Arora S/o Sh. Madan Mohan R/o
H no. 3147, Sector 47D, Chandigarh Age- 37Years. On this, a case FIR No. 06 dated 23.01.2026 under Section 61-1-14 The Excise Act, PS-49, Chandigarh has been registered.

This case has been registered on the complaint  of SI Amarjit Singh 1873/CHG, PS-49, Chandigarh, in which he reported that on 22.01.2026, he along with the police party was on patrolling and crime prevention duty in the PS area. At around 09.30PM, upon reaching the parking area near The Taxi Stand, Sector 48C, Chandigarh, they noticed a suspicious vehicle white colour, make Honda City bearing no. CH01AA1313 in which one person found sitting on driver seat who disclosed himself as Akhil Arora S/o Sh. Madan Mohan R/o H no. 3147, Sector 47D, Chandigarh Age-37 Years and he was asked for his presence there but he could not provide any satisfactory answer. During the search, various brands of illicit liquor were  recovered from his vehicle. Thereafter, Sh. Amandeep Dutt, Excise Inspector (Area
Concern), UT, Chandigarh was informed about the recovery of ill

cit liquor, who arrived at the scene with his team. They were intercepted the recovered illicit liquor. Upon asking, the individual couldn’t provide a satisfactory explanation or any valid license or permit for the substantial amount of liquor found in his possession and he was arrested in above said case. During the course of investigation, recovered illicit liquor were seized into seven sealed parcels and seized liquor parcels along with suspect's car make White Honda City no. CH01AA1313 has also been taken into police custody as case property.
