Under the supervision of Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Senior Medical Officer Wahabwala, spectacles/spectacles were distributed to the children of government schools in village Rajpura.
Dr. Gagandeep Singh said that under the National Program for Control of Blindness, spectacles/spectacles were distributed to 80 children of Government Primary School, Rajpura and Government Senior Secondary School, Rajpura.
Under this program of the Health Department, spectacles are distributed to school students and needy persons with weak vision. Like other parts of the body, eyes are a precious organ. A person should pay special attention to eye care and in case of any eye problem, he should immediately come to the hospital and get checked by expert doctors. This should not be ignored.
Ophthalmic Officer Mandeep Singh said that the Health Department organizes awareness and check-up camps for eye care and also conducts free operations for needy persons. He said that in the recent past, all the children of these schools had been examined and for those children found to have weak eyesight, spectacles had been made and sent by the department.
