A girl who traveled by the intercity train from Jakhal to Sriganganagar along with her minor boyfriend, was rescued by the Railway Protection Force.

Child Helpline Coordinator Trilok Verma said that the family had filed a missing and kidnap complaint at the Fatehabad police station. The police began searching for the girl and boy. Following counseling by the RPF at Sriganganagar, the girl and boy provided family members’ contact numbers. The RPF informed the parents that the girl and boy were safe in Sriganganagar. Both were handed over to the Child Welfare Committee. When the duo was counselled, the girl said that she wanted a new mobile phone and had asked her family for it, but they refused. Angry girl left home with her neighborhood minor boyfriend by the Delhi-Sriganganagar Intercity train.

Now, when the girl and boy's family reached Sriganganagar, RPF Sub-Inspector Dungar Singh presented their documents before the Child Welfare Committee. As the girl and boy agreed to go home with their respective families, orders were given to restore them. On this occasion, Child Welfare Committee Chairman Joginder Kaushik, members Dr. Ram Prakash Sharma, Vipin Sankhla, RPF Sub-Inspector Dungar Singh and Child Helpline Coordinator Trilok Verma were present.
