CHANDIGARH CYBER CRIME POLICE ARRESTS TWO KAITHAL YOUTH ACCUSED IN COAST GUARD EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE CASE

In a significant breakthrough, the Cyber Crime Police Station, UT Chandigarh has arrested One (02) accused person in connection with related to malpractice in online government examinations coast guard examination and others in Chandigarh. The case was registered under case FIR No. 56 dated 29.03.2022 Sections: 409, 420, 120-B IPC & 43(D)(G)(H)(I)(J), 65 & 66 IT Act of Police Station: Sector-34, Chandigarh.

The operation was carried out under the dynamic leadership of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP-Cyber, UT Chandigarh, with close guidance from Sh. A. Venkatesh, DSP Cyber Crime & IT, and supervision of Inspector Ms. Eram Rizvi, SHO, PS-Cyber Crime, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

The case was registered on the complaint of the Head of Administration, British School, regarding irregularities detected during the conduct of coast guard examination and others. The examination process had been outsourced to M/s Stellar Edge Solutions and Services, Sector-34/A, Chandigarh.

The accused identified as  Pawan Kumar S/o Ram Diya, from Kaithal, Haryana (Age 39 years) and  Pawan S/o Satyawan from District Kaithal, Haryana

The case was registered on the complaint of the Head of Administration, British School, regarding irregularities detected during the conduct of coast guard examination and others. The examination process had been outsourced to M/s Stellar Edge Solutions and Services, Sector-34/A, Chandigarh.

During the course of investigation, relevant records were obtained from the examination centre as well as the outsourcing agency. Technical analysis, including scrutiny of Call Detail Records (CDR) and Customer Application Forms (CAF), led to the identification of suspects involved in organized malpractice activities.

During the operation, two suspects were arrested (1) Pawan Kumar, S/o Ram Diya, from Kaithal, Haryana (Age: 39 years), and (2) Pawan, S/o Satyawan, from Kaithal, Haryana. During the investigation, it was revealed that Pawan S/o Satyawan had taken the premises on contract for conducting the examination.

As well as during questioning, accused Pawan Kumar S/o Ram Diya disclosed his involvement in conducting online government examinations in association with others. He revealed that the said persons allegedly masterminded examination malpractices by collecting large sums of money from candidates in exchange for facilitating unfair means through compromised computer labs.

Two mobile phones were recovered from the possession of accused Pawan Kumar and taken into police possession for forensic examination. The accused has further disclosed that he can identify and lead police teams and investigation also indicates the involvement of additional associates who may have provided infrastructure and logistical support.
