The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Proclaimed Offender (PO) Paras Ram @ Raju Sharma, wanted in a double murder case.
The CBI registered the instant case on 06.04.2011 against 6 accused including Paras Ram, pursuant to the directions of the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench. It was alleged that on 29.07.2010, the accused persons criminally trespassed into the house of a person at Kama, Rajasthan and opened indiscriminate fire using country-made firearms. As a result of the firing, two persons, including a father and son who were family members of the then Additional Sessions Judge, lost their lives on the spot, while two other persons sustained grievous injuries.
During the course of investigation, one of the accused, namely, Paras Ram had been absconding since the registration of case. The accused was declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Hon'ble Court of ACJM SPE Cases, Jaipur and a reward of Rs 5 lakh was declared against him. The trial proceedings against him were kept in abeyance.
Through collection and analysis of technical inputs and field intelligence, CBI developed credible information regarding the whereabouts of the accused and it was revealed that the accused Paras Ram was living under changed identity of “Raju Sharma”.
Acting on the developed intelligence, CBI successfully arrested the accused on 05.03.2026 at New Delhi in execution of the standing warrant of arrest issued by the competent court. The arrested accused was produced before the competent court and has been granted three days of police custody.
