TWO BIKERS COMMITTED DAY LIGHT SENSATIONAL ROBBERY WORTH CRORES OF RUPEES FROM JEWELLARY SHOP IN DHAKOLI

Two motorcycles borne unidentified persons on Friday in a sensational incident, looted 2 KG gold and several KG. Silver jewellary from Govind Jewelers located on 'Dhakoli main road in broad day light in Zirakpur and fled away with jewelery worth crores of rupees.

S.P. Zirakpur Jaspinder Singh Gill  with heavy police force visited the spot after receiving the information and investigated the matter.

There was terror in the city due to the robbery incident that took place in broad daylight.

Surinder Kwatra, owner of Govind Jewelers located near Hermitage Park Society in Dhakoli area told that he was sitting in his showroom. Meanwhile, at 11.15 in the morning, two youths arrived on a motorcycle, one of whom was Keshdhari and one cleanshaven.

One young man who asked to show a gold chain worth Rs 70 thousand. On the pretext of not liking the design, he brought a shop on the ground floor and a shop on the first floor. Did a complete recce of the situated workshop and went away asking him to come after some time. An hour later, at around 12:15, he came back and made the excuse of showing the chain. They took him upstairs to the 'first floor' where they held him hostage and found him lying in the shop with  took away two KG gold and several KG silver jewellary worth about Rs. 2.25 crore.

Surinder Kwatra told that the robbers had a gun in their pocket and threatended to shot them if they raised an alarm.  He said that while leaving, the robbers also took away the DVR of the CCTV camera installed in the shop.

Robbers stayed in the showroom for about 15 to 20 minutes and proceeded to carry out the robbery with ease.

Surinder Kawatra's son Govinder Kawatra told that the robbers committed the robbery and fled away. S.P. Jaspinder Singh Gill said that after receiving the information, investigation into the matter has been started. He said that CCTV cameras of the nearby area are being examined to find the robbers. He said that anything can be said about the looted goods only after investigation.
