ARMY CONTINUES RELIEF OPERATIONS IN FLOOD-HIT AREAS OF FAZILKA SECTOR

A contingent of the Army's Amogh Division is continuing relief and rescue operations in the flood-hit Fazilka sector of Punjab. The operations began on August 28 and have now entered the fourth day. During this, the Indian Army has been working closely with the civil administration and the NDRF.

Officials said that so far more than 700 villagers have been shifted to safer places. Along with this, the teams are also working to deliver essential goods and provide immediate assistance to dozens of flood-hit people.

According to Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, the focus is now on reaching the stranded families and restoring stability in the villages, and the Army is supporting this. The Amogh Division contingent is deployed round the clock to ensure the safety and assistance of the people
