POLLING ON NOVEMBER 11, COUNTING OF VOTES ON NOVEMBER 14: SIBIN C

The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the by-election to the 21-Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency in Punjab. With this announcement, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in Tarn Taran district. 

Sharing details, Punjab’s Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C stated that as per the schedule issued by the Election Commission, the notification for the by-election will be issued on October 13, 2025. The last date for filing nominations will be October 21, while the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 22. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 24, 2025. 

Sibin C further informed that polling will be held on November 11, 2025, and counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025. 

He added that nomination papers can be filed on any working day between October 13 and October 21, except on October 19 (Sunday) and October 20 (Diwali), which are holidays.
