A MAJOR CRACKDOWN - “OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP” AGAINST FOREIGN NATIONALS OVERSTAYING AND INDULGING IN ILLEGAL ACTIVITES, CONDUCTED BY POLICE OF WESTERN RANGE, DELHI POLICE. 260 AFRICAN NATIONALS APPREHENDED/ARRESTED DURING , DOCUMENTS VERIFICATIONS AND FURTHER CASE REGISTRATION PROCESS IS UNDER WAY. MORE THEN 25 HOUSE OWNERS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED, CASES ARE BEING REGISTERED AGAINST THE HOUSE OWNERS UNDER APPROPRIATE SECTIONS OF LAW. 26 CASES HAVE BEEN REGISTERED AGAINST THE OFFENDERS.

Based on information & complaints being received about many people staying in unauthorized manner in many areas and landlords renting houses without proper intimations, this exercise has been carried out.
As directed by Commissioner of Police, Delhi, to go all out against illegally staying foreign nationals, we have carried out this Operation Clean Sweep beat wise in Seven PS areas of Western Range, Extra officers & staff from other Police Stations, District Reserves, and CP Reserve were part of this extensive exercise. During its preparatory stage, mapping of such areas was undertaken & simultaneous verification process undertaken.
Sh. Madhup Tewari, IPS, Spl. CP/L&O/Zone-2 and Sh. Jatin Narwal, IPS, Jt. CP Western Range are vigorously pursuing the policy of 'Zero Tolerance' against persons overstaying illegally in the areas of Dwarka, West & Outer Districts.
To crack down on drugs and illegal migrants’ various operations and campaigns are being run by Dwarka, West & Outer Districts police.
To crackdown on illegally staying foreign nationals and contain the illegal activities, if any, on 09.11.25, dedicated teams under the guidance of Ankit Singh, IPS - DCP Dwarka, Darade Sharad Bhaskar, IPS – DCP West and Sachin Sharma, IPS – DCP Outer District - a total of 31 teams, comprising 04 ACsP, 20 Insprs comprising teams of Ops. lead by Sh. Raj Kumar, ACP/Dabri & Inspr Kamlesh Kumar, I/c AATS, Inspr Subhash Chand I/c Anti Narcotics, Inspr Vishvender I/c Spl Staff, Inspr Vivek I/c ABC team, Inspr Rohit, Spl Staff Outer District, SHO Tilak Nagar, West District and 600 Police personnel were deployed. The team were directed to take strong, effective action against persons involved in drug trafficking as well as persons - foreign nationals residing illegally or overstaying in areas of Western Range, Delhi Police specially in the areas of Bindapur, Dabri, Uttam Nagar, Mohan Garden, Vikas puri, Tilak Nagar and Nihal Vihar.

Bahadur Singh, SHO Jaffarpur Kalan, Inspr. Kamlesh Kumar, I/c AATS, Inspr. Subhash, I/c Anti Narcotics Cell, Inspr. Vishvender I/c Spl Staff, Inspr. Vivek, I/c Anti Burglary Cell team, Inspr. Dinesh, Dwarka North, Inspr. Ramesh Dwarka South, Inspr. Sudhir PS Chhawla, Inspr Manish, I/c Jail Bail team and 600 Police Personnel.
During this exercise, 183 Foreigners of 10 countries in Africa including 48 females found illegally residing have been apprehended by the teams from different places in Western Range. Amongst these, 160 have been apprehended by Dwarka District, 14 by West and 9 by Outer District.
On verification, African Nationals were found with overstaying or expired Visa. During search operation, drugs have also been recovered from the possession of 01 such Foreign National. Accordingly, legal action has been taken. Also NBW was found issued against another foreign national and he has been arrested. Legal action against house owners has also been taken where Foreign Nationals are found residing illegally.
During this exercise, 75 foreigners have been found against whom FIRs have been registered previously and currently they are on bail granted by the Learned Courts. Police will keep a strict vigil over these foreign nationals to ensure that they don’t violate bail. Conditions or evade the Court proceedings.
WORKOUT: -Search of their houses as well as documents is rigorously going on. As per verification further cases are being registered against the house owners under appropriate sections of law for violating the provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act and not filing Form II.
After the verification of documents, deportation proceedings against 183 illegally staying foreigners of different nationalities is under process and they are being handed over to FRRO.
The exercise will be carried out in periodic manner to ensure the deportation of all such overstaying foreign nationals. We also want to apprise the landlords, owners of houses renting out their premises to foreign nationals to fill Form-II as per the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025 for every single foreigner visiting or staying in their premises for even a single day, said Mr. Jatin Narwal, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Westeran Range.
