Acting on a credible secret tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Delhi Police Crime Branch launched a midnight operation during the intervening night of 27/28 September 2025 near Chhatrapati Shivaji Park, Outer Ring Road, Basai Darapur (West Delhi). In a swift and well-coordinated raid, the team arrested two active drug traffickers - Ranjeet Mehra @ Kannu (27 yrs) and Sanjana (26 yrs), who were caught red-handed while delivering narcotic drugs.
A secret information was received by the team of Insp. Pardeep Kumar (ANTF) on 27.09.2025. The information was further developed and shared with senior officers who ordered to conduct a raid without delay.
Acting on the input, under the supervision of Insp. Pardeep Kumar and close monitoring of ACP Sh. Raj Kumar and a team comprising of SI Rohit, SI Dharmendra, ASI Sanjay Kumar, HC Amit, No.1355/Crime & W/HC Anita laid a trap near Chhatrapati Shivaji Park, Main Outer Ring Road, Basai Darapur, Delhi at the midnight of 27/28.09.2025, a trap was laid and the drugs supplier Ranjeet Mehra @ Kannu S/o Dayaram R/o M-7, Shyam Nagar, Vishnu Garden, Delhi, Age – 27 years and the receiver of drugs Sanjana W/o Guru Baksh R/o Near Old Gurudwara, Kasturba Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi, Age-26 Years were apprehended from the said spot where they had come on their Scooty and respectively. After due compliances of mandatory provisions of the NDPS Act, 2.785 Kg Heroin drugs recovered from conscious possession of Ranjeet Mehra @ Kannu and 207 Grams Heroin drugs recovered from Sanjana. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 229/2025, U/s 21/25, NDPS Act, PS Crime Branch was registered in this regard.
Recovery: 2.994 Kgs of Heroin, Two Scooties- TVS N-Torq) & Suzuki Access used in the transportation of drugs were also seized.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Ranjeet Mehra @ Kannu is a resident of Vishnu Garden, Delhi. Having studied up to class 10th, he earlier ran a small business but turned to drug trafficking due to financial strain. He procured heroin from a supplier named Adarsh @ Gattu and supplied further to local distributors.
Sanjana, a resident of Kasturba Nagar, Shahdara, studied up to class 7th. Struggling with financial difficulties, she joined hands with Ranjeet in the narcotics trade and was actively supplying drugs to her contacts in Delhi.
With this operation, Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully dealt a major blow to the narcotics syndicate operating in Delhi-NCR. The department reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against drugs and remains fully committed to protecting society, especially the youth, from the menace of narcotics.
