GRANDMASTER BIKRAM S. THAPA LEADS INSPIRING SELF-DEFENCE SESSION UNDER SAMAGRA SHIKSHA IN DHARAMSHALA

Against the stunning backdrop of the Dharamshala hills, the Rani Lakshmi Bai Self-Defence Training Program for 2025-26 is unfolding across the picturesque districts of Himachal Pradesh, including Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, and Una. Coordinated by the esteemed Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Art, this initiative continues to thrive under the guidance of Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

  Today, the vibrant atmosphere at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School for Girls, Dharamshala, was energised by the presence of Grandmaster Bikram S. Thapa, Visionary General Secretary and CEO of Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Art. 

The hall buzzed with anticipation as esteemed guests arrived to witness the event. Among them were Shri Rakesh Sharma, Principal of DIET Kangra; Smt. Neelam Thakur, Self-Defence Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha District Kangra, and Principal and Block Education Officer, Smt. Mamta Thakur—together contributing to a strong atmosphere of support.

As the session commenced, Grandmaster Thapa captivated participants with a dynamic demonstration showcasing how girls can use everyday objects, such as pens and keys, as effective tools for self-defence. His presentation went beyond technique—highlighting empowerment, confidence, and the critical need for self-defence skills for girls in today’s world. The room filled with determination as young trainees absorbed his teachings, ready to step forward with strengthened resolve and self-belief.

Grandmaster Bikram S. Thapa, Visionary General Secretary & CEO, Shastrang Indian Modern Martial Arts says, “Through the Rani Lakshmi Bai Atma Raksha Prashikshan 2025–26, conducted across Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kinnaur, Shimla, Sirmour, and Una under Samagra Shiksha Himachal Pradesh, we aim to empower girls in all 3,240 government schools with the confidence and capability to protect themselves. Self-defence is not just a skill—it is a fundamental right, a mindset, and a pathway to fearless living. Our mission is to ensure that every girl stands strong, prepared, and proud of her own strength.”
